Old School

The term "old school" (sometimes spelled “old skool”) makes our women's hearts beat faster. No, I'm not talking about the house music of the early nineties, but about "old school styling."

The somewhat faded (and soiled) sneakers that were mainly worn barefoot, a well-worn, well-fitting pair of jeans, a slightly faded T-shirt with a unique American print, the better aged lambswool sweater, of course borrowed from father's closet and more of those things that stand for a life full of adventure. After all, those were the boys in high school that we never overlooked.

We mercilessly ignored the guys who studied hard with a well-fitting shirt and shiny new sneakers, in short, the guys who didn't quite understand the local dress code. No, “the old schoolboys” stood for a more exciting existence. They guaranteed driveways with engine parts, half-keyed old timers, evenings by a flickering fire (fire-lighting manual not necessary), sailing trips, nightly swimming parties, old engines and, above all, for old money with related pleasant country houses (and pond).

In short, the better adventure.

This week I got talking to a handsome man in his sixties (yep), blessed with a beautiful bone structure, healthy skin and radiant eyes. Although he walked in sneakers, so true a grown man!

My “professional deformation” quickly calculated the budget of this outfit. Shirt, trousers, shoes and watch (Vintage Rolex Submariner) were worth  € 12,000. And that on a normal weekday.

This “old school look” is simply for sale. Not only for men, also for women. See, for example, the Golden Goose brand. Said footwear costs around 400 Euros. But then you have two. That's the good news again.

You probably already have the old school look in your closet. That is only a matter of digging and also better in the context of reducing consumption and the environment. Pay particular attention to a modest appearance. Every detail counts.
